ACLS Intended Audience

Personnel staffing emergency, intensive care or critical care departments; emergency medical providers such as physicians, nurses, emergency technicians, paramedics, respiratory therapists and other professionals who may respond to a cardiovascular emergency.

ACLS What You Learn

The ACLS Provider Course provides the knowledge and skills needed to evaluate and manage the first 10 minutes of an adult ventricular fibrillation/ventricular tachycardia (VF/VT) arrest. Providers are expected to learn to manage 10 core ACLS cases: a respiratory emergency, four types of cardiac arrest (simple VF/VT, complex VF/VT, PEA and asystole), four types of prearrest emergencies (bradycardia, stable tachycardia, unstable tachycardia and acute coronary syndromes) and stroke. Course Content is in accordance with American Heart association guidelines and Safcare is Currently a Provider of continuing education in the following agencies: 1.) Florida Board of nursing 2.) Florida Bureau Of Emergency Medical Services

Course Information

Course Prerequisite: Healthcare Provider. If you are rusty reading Cardiac Rhythms please register for ACLS Prep if available or purchase Basic EKG Guide from the Safcare Store.

Initial Provider Course: 16 hours of Continuing Education Credit and ACLS Study Guide. This Course is appropriate when not utilizing ACLS on a regular basis, first-timers as well as for individuals with expired cards. Required textbooks are available in the Safcare Store. If you already have a current textbook, please bring it to the course.

A BLS update is available within ACLS Course for additional cost for current providers. A completed Pre-Test must be completed prior to admitance. You will partake in Written/Skills Exam Card TYPE & Period Course completion / 2 Years

Re-certification: 8 Hours Continuing Education Credit and the ACLS Study Guide. A current (not expired) ACLS card is required for entrance to the renewal program. This class is for persons well versed in ACLS protocols and is for testing only. A completed Pre-Test must be completed prior to admitance. You will partake in Written/Skills Exam Card TYPE & Period Course completion / 2 Years
